Welcome to the Hansen School District. We are a progressive rural school district serving approximately 350 students in grades PreK-12. The district boasts excellent instructional staff and up to date technology. Through aggressive grant writing, we have been able to supplement our curriculum and resources to allow teachers to be creative in meeting the needs of our students. The grants we were awarded last year include the Idaho School Improvement Grant, Monsanto, STEM, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and the I3 Scale Up Writing.

We value parents input and invite you to visit the school, call your child’s teacher or principal, attend Board meetings and athletic activities and in general be a part of our community.

So, if you are new welcome and if you are returning welcome back! This is truly a great district and we all feel fortunate to be a part of it.

Supplemental Levy - Vote Tuesday March 9

Currently Hansen School District is operating on a supplemental levy in the amount of $290,000.00. This two-year supplemental levy was increased six years ago in an effort to keep up with the demands of increased costs. The district is asking tax payers to approve a continuation of this existing levy which will expire this year. Because we are not increasing the amount of the levy, there will be no increase to the school district levy rate.

The following areas are where the district uses the revenue generated from the supplemental levy:

  • Continue district wide educational programs and special services (full time counselor and speech therapist)
  • Purchase classroom curricular materials and supplies
  • Funds extra-curricular salaries and transportation costs
  • Supplements classified and certified salaries and benefits not paid by the State

Continuing to support the current level of the supplemental levy will allow the district to maintain the same level of service and support for our students.
