Welcome to the Hansen School District. We are a progressive rural school district serving approximately 350 students in grades PreK-12. The district boasts excellent instructional staff and up to date technology. Through aggressive grant writing, we have been able to supplement our curriculum and resources to allow teachers to be creative in meeting the needs of our students. The grants we were awarded last year include the Idaho School Improvement Grant, Monsanto, STEM, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and the I3 Scale Up Writing.

We value parents input and invite you to visit the school, call your child’s teacher or principal, attend Board meetings and athletic activities and in general be a part of our community.

So, if you are new welcome and if you are returning welcome back! This is truly a great district and we all feel fortunate to be a part of it.

Coronavirus Response

On July 20, 2020 the Hansen school board approved a fall school re-entry plan for the district. Step 3 of that plan talks about a school schedule that is designed to limit contact by reducing the number of students in the building at any one time. Since this type of schedule will greatly affect parents routines, work schedules and plans for child care, we would like your input. The results of this survey will help determine the schedule we will use for this situation. We appreciate your input and support.

District Coronavirus Updates

Message from the Superintendent

Dear Parent/Guardians:

We are now into Stage 4 of the governor's Rebound Idaho plan. This allows for a full school return this fall with some additional measures. At this time we will start back to school as planned on August 19, 2020. However, we will have a plan in place to make sure our environment is as safe and healthy as possible. We will be outlining new safety protocols in the near future. A group of staff, parents and our school board have and will continue providing input for our plan throughout the summer.

All school districts within the state are planning for three scenarios they could find themselves in for the upcoming school year. I would ask all of you as parents and guardians of students attending schools in Hansen to be thinking about and preparing for these situations as well. They are:

  • #1 our traditional "normal" school- everyone on campus at the same time
  • #2 some type of hybrid model where part of our students are on campus each day and the other half utilize remote learning
  • #3 a fully remote learning situation like we experienced this past spring

There are still a lot of unknowns and no one can predict what things will be like in August. Know that we, as a district, are planning for all three of these scenarios and for the safety and security of our students, staff and community.

I welcome any questions or concerns you may have. You can contact me at the number below or email dcarson@hansenschools.org

Go Huskies!!!

Estimados padres / tutores:
