National FFA Success

We just received some exciting news from the National FFA!

1st - Aimee O'Dell, formerly Kuykendall (2024 Grad) has been announced as an American FFA Degree Recipient! This is the first Hansen FFA Member to receive this award in our records. It is awarded annually to less than 1% of FFA Members. To be eligible Aimee had to meet the following criteria: Complete 50 hours of community service, earn/invest $10,000, and over 2250 hours into her SAE project of raising show pigs and working on the family farm, maintain a C average, and be enrolled in 540 hours of Ag Ed classes. This is a huge accomplishment, and we are so proud of Aimee for receiving the highest honor that National FFA can bestow!

2nd - Abigail Dastrup was announced as a Silver recipient for her Proficiency Award in Equine Entrepreneurship. For this award she has tracked her hours and income in buying, selling and training horses and then filling out an application about her goals, strengths and weaknesses. This application went up against 30 others from every state and she was just out of the top 10.

3rd - The entire Chapter was announced as a 3 Star National Chapter based on actively implementing different activities that emphasize growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture. This is the highest star ranking a chapter can receive!

So a big thank you to all of you for supporting the Hansen FFA! None of this would be possible without your help and support, whether that's allowing FFA members into your classroom, helping proofread applications, or just talking to them about what they are doing, it's greatly appreciated! This wouldn't be possible without your support in creating some amazing student leaders throughout their time as a Husky.
