Secondary Special Education Para Professional

 

 The Hansen School District is looking for an energetic person that is willing to provide students with daily educational and behavioral support that will provide the best possible academic knowledge and skills for the student.  Someone to help pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education according to the guidelines outlined in each student’s Individual Education Plan. 

The requirements are as follows:  
·         At least two years of college‑level coursework, an Associate’s Degree in education or related field or a rigorous standard of quality on formal state or local assessment.  In Idaho the “rigorous formal state assessment” is the ParaPro Assessment offered by the Education Testing Service
·         The ability to work with students with emotional, physical, and mental disabilities, ability to support students one-on-one and small group situations
·         Demonstrated knowledge of effective behavioral methods
·         Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
·         Work well with students, staff, and the public
·         Excellent organizational skills
·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
·         Able to work under deadlines
·         Maintain confidentiality of staff and students
·         Ability to lift up to fifty pounds and push and pull up to one hundred pounds

Activity Bus Driver

 Hansen School District is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic candidate to join our team as an activity bus driver. Applicants should have a commercial driver’s license with a school passenger endorsement. However, the district is willing to help defray the costs of training to obtain a license.

Gear Up Coordinator

 Hansen School District is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic candidate to join our team as the Gear Up Coordinator.

 The GEAR UP site coordinator will:
 Orient parents, students, faculty, and staff to GEAR UP and raise awareness of the benefits of postsecondary education among school personnel, parents, and the community at large.
 Serve as a college planning resource for teachers, educators, counselors and parents.
 Recruit, train, and maintain a GEAR UP school-site team and a mentoring team.
 Develop, implement, and/or enhance parent workshops.
 Coordinate academic year college visits for students.
  Develop and implement comprehensive pre-college programs for middle and high school students that include career exploration, academic planning and preparation, and financial planning.
 Coordinate or perform annual planning sessions with GEAR UP students.
 Work cooperatively with educators to provide enrichment activities that include job-shadowing, college visits, etc.
 Manage data collection and entry from schools and provide continuous feedback to the GEAR UP state staff and school officials regarding project benchmarks and outcomes.
 Collect rosters from each event, listing students and families served.
 Submit monthly invoices, receipts, logs, and reporting documents to GEAR UP Idaho state staff.
 Develop and maintain an annual program plan.
 Attend mandatory state or national professional development or training events.
 Plan and coordinate professional development for school staff.
 Support GEAR UP state initiatives through coordinating school activities, providing planning assistance or acting as a chaperone.
 Serve as a mentor and positive role model for GEAR UP students; encourage students in the eligible cohorts to participate in GEAR UP activities.
 Work to expand capacity for college access in the school and community.
 Prioritize compliance with all GEAR UP state and federal regulations.

 This position will be paid as a stipend.
